"Things are getting steadily worse over time. I have my sister and nephews over there -- you can't have a normal job; a huge number of families live off the money their expats send them" There's an abundance of online websites that focus on selling and the buying of RS gold commodities. It is a marketplace, with sites taking out Google Ads to look at the top of search listings.

Christian Alejandro is a college student studying geological engineering, but he spends his spare time about college commitments, usually 10 hours every day, leveling up RuneScape reports in the Nightmare Zone, a combat-based minigame. This allows one to quickly level up battle skills for the account he's playing, which, after high enough, are subsequently sold for U.S. dollars to other RuneScape players. He's paid an hourly rate to do this, and earns $100-150 monthly. By posting a Reddit thread asking for work alejandro got the gig.

"I was lucky to find a person to give me that job!" He explains over Discord. "People that are trying to live off minimum wage have a very bad time and there are lots of households [in Venezuela] who just eat once a day. "Runescape, in a few words, is my occupation. I earn over $100 per month," Alejandro continues. "That is a substantial amount -- insufficient -- but at least you live with that. Without Runescape, I wouldn't have any way. RuneScape is a favorite with many Venezuelans, since it's a fantastic profit per month." Alejandro is not the only RuneScape player we've spoken to who's been given work by other RuneScape gamers online.

One old school runescape gold participant would speak as he believes that speaking out against the government could lead to him being attacked only if granted anonymity. We'll call him Perez. "I have seen warnings about posting things which will hurt the Government's image," he explains over Discord. "They have censored all the media -- TV channels in addition to the papers." Three decades ago, Perez was a college student living in a family that was unable to put food on the dining table. He tells us his parents earn the equivalent of"two loaves of bread" per month. Desperate to enhance the lives that he and his family were living, Perez started Googling methods of earning money on the web.
